

Warriors Take Tough Loss to Nationally Ranked Lipscomb Academy
The Thompson Warriors took on another nationally ranked team to begin the 2022 season and welcomed Trent Dilfer and his Lipscomb Academy Mustangs to Warrior Stadium Friday, August 27. The Warriors took a quick lead in the first half and led for most of the game, but injuries and costly turnovers ultimately lost them a chance at victory with a final score of 24-14. Thompson Football Returns to Defend Title with a New Look on Offense
The 2021 football season is etched in lore for Thompson High School. Mark Freeman’s club became the first to win three consecutive state championships in the modern era and did so in perhaps the most dominant fashion ever. The Warriors broke the team record set in 2020 for points in a season (604) with 636 points in last year’s run to the title, but much of that production has moved on to play at the next level. Thompson Defense Remains Dangerous Despite Elite Departures
It was a banner year for the Thompson Warriors’ defense in 2021. The staunch unit allowed just 7.1 points per game, scored a touchdown in seven different games, recorded five shutouts, amassed a team record 160 tackles for loss and a state record 92 punts forced.
